The entire production of a herbal liqueur takes about a year.

Herbs, roots or berries are mixed with alcohol in copper and earthen percolators. The time until a batch is removed is 2-3 weeks. The herbs may no longer be collected and used, as was once the case. For complete traceability, the air-dried herbs are supplied by qualified retailers. The high-quality vegetable raw materials form the basis for the success of excellent ALTENBERGER spirits.

The extracted extracts are then mixed into the basic material according to the well-kept recipe from 1842. This then rests in the earthen barrels for more than 9 months until it has reached perfect harmony. Ever since the company was founded in 1842 by Adolf Fürchtegott Büttner, the recipe has always remained the same and has never been passed on to third parties.
